Emporia State University’s Department of Student Wellness, is seeking an
individual with excellent clinical and outreach skills for the position of
Counselor in Counseling Services. Counseling Services is located in the
Student Wellness Center which also houses and shares a newly renovated
reception area with Health Services and Disability Services. This is a full
time 12 month position.
The Counselor is responsible for providing individual and group counseling to
college students for a wide variety of mental health issues and disorders;
seeking and coordinating Counseling Center internships from various mental
health disciplines; and developing and presenting programs to students,
faculty, and staff that are data-driven, culturally sensitive, and in keeping
with the mission and goals of the Department of Student Wellness. Essential
job functions include individual and group counseling, knowledge of referral
resources, collaborating with other Student Wellness and campus departments for
prevention and outreach programming, and providing consultation for faculty and
staff on mental health issues. The Counselor will be expected to keep current
on the characteristics of the current population of college students and to be
able to utilize different kinds of technology to provide students and faculty
with relevant mental health information.
Preferred qualifications include a Masters degree in counseling, social work,
psychology, or a related field, plus at least two years experience diagnosing
and treating mental disorders in a clinical setting. Required qualifications
include a Masters degree plus one year of experience providing individual and
group counseling and licensure as LPC, LCPC, or equivalent level; or the
ability to transfer licensure to the state of Kansas Behavioral Sciences
Regulatory Board by the beginning of employment. Excellent oral and written
communication skills, collaborative skills, and the willingness to adapt and
respond to the changing needs of college students are essential.

Washburn University is seeking someone with a Master’s in Art therapy to teach an Undergraduate Art Therapy class at Washburn University in the fall.
The class would be 1 night a week, Tuesdays from 5:30-8:15 for 15 weeks starting Aug. 18. You would receive $1800. The class structure is fairly flexible and past instructors have included a combination of lecture and studio. It is a introductory class open to students who have taken psychology 101.
